- Tap Done.

- Unlock your iPhone, then touch and hold the Lock Screen.
- Tap Customize, then Lock Screen.
- Tap the widget area under the clock and choose Levity.
- Tap Done.
Choose what a widget shows
Touch and hold the widget and tap Edit Widget:
- Content: Bible verses, Quotes, Verses & quotes, or My quotes.
- Verse topic or Quote topic: a topic like Hope, Peace, Courage, or Wisdom, or your favorites.
- Changes: every hour, every 3 or 6 hours, once a day, or never (pinned).
- Theme: Same as app uses the app's theme, including a custom theme you made, or pick a theme for this widget.
You can add several Levity widgets, each with its own settings.
Keep one verse or quote on a widget
- In the app, open a verse or quote and tap Pin to Widget. You can also swipe a row or touch and hold it.
- Edit the widget and set Changes to Never (pinned).
- Choose it under Pinned item, or leave that empty to show your most recent pin.
Levity Plus
Every verse and quote is free. Levity Plus, an optional subscription ($14.99 a year or $1.99 a month in the U.S.), adds room for more than 15 of your own quotes, 6 extra color themes, and custom themes in your own colors and font. Open it from Settings > Levity Plus in the app.
- Restore a subscription on a new or reset iPhone: Settings > Levity Plus > Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you subscribed with.
- Cancel or switch plans: on your iPhone, open Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Levity. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Plus stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Make a custom theme: Settings > Theme > New Theme. To see it on a widget, set the widget's Theme to Same as app.
If your subscription ends, your quotes and custom themes stay saved, and they come back when you subscribe again.
Common questions
My widget isn't changing.
iOS decides exactly when widgets refresh, so a change can be a few minutes late. If Changes is set to Never (pinned), the widget won't change at all. Medium and large widgets have a Next button to skip ahead.
Where do the verses and quotes come from?
Bible verses are from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is in the public domain. Famous quotes come from public-domain editions of each author's own writing, and each one is checked word for word against its source. Quotes that Wikiquote lists as disputed or misattributed are left out. You can see the sources in the app under Settings > Bible Text & Quote Sources.
Do I need an account? Is my data backed up?
No account is needed. Your quotes, favorites, and pins stay on your iPhone and are included in your normal iPhone backups. Levity doesn't sync them to any server. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual quotes in My Quotes, or delete the app to remove everything.
